Lisa Olstein, The Elisabet Ney Museum Writer-in-Residence for 2017, will discuss her work and works-in-progress, along with her friend and colleague Edward Carey, They will share artworks that combine visual and text imagery for a unique and illuminating evening event! Lisa Olstein is the author of three poetry collections, most recently, LITTLE STRANGER (Copper Canyon Press, 2013). A new book of poems, LATE EMPIRE, is forthcoming in fall 2017. She also writes essays and pursues cross-discipline collaborations with musicians and artists. She is a member of the poetry faculty at UT Austin. Edward Carey is the author of two adults novels, OBSERVATORY MANSIONS and ALVA & IRVA:THE TWINS WHO SAVED A CITY, and of the YA/Middle Grade IREMONGER trilogy, all of which he illustrated. He has worked in theatre in London, Lithuania and Romania and with a show puppet master in Malaysia. His work has been translated into fourteen languages. He is a member of the fiction faculty at UT Austin
