The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels and the California Chapter of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums in Rome are inviting the public to the exhibit “The Life of a Swiss Guard: A Private View,” on display December 5, 2016 to January 15, 2017 at the Cathedral (555 W. Temple Street, Los Angeles, 90012) It is the first-ever exhibit that reveals the daily lives of the members of the military force that for centuries has guarded the Vatican and the Pope. It includes photographs and examples of the Swiss Guard uniforms, armor and other objects. The exhibit was inaugurated at the Vatican this year as part of the Jubilee Year of Mercy declared by Pope Francis. It was curated by the Patrons office and Father Mark Haydu L.C., under the supervision of Dr. Romina Cometti, with photographer Fabio Mantegna. Sponsored by the California Chapter of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums, the exhibition will travel to several cities worldwide.
