A Harry Potter inspired real wood wand making class for witches and wizards of all ages and skill sets. This is a special drop in class, come anytime to the Worthwich School booth at the Hogwarts Craft Fair @ Wonderland of the Americas Mall Jan 28 and 29th from 10am-6pm to make your wand. Please allow around 1 hour to complete your wand. Ticket Pricing: Pre-sale Now-Jan 27 $20/wand Day of craft fair Jan 28-29 $25/wand You can also add on a handmade fabric wand box (choice of colors, holds 1 wand) or quidditch themed wand stand (holds 3 wands) to your wand class ticket. Discounts are available if you buy both a wand ticket plus wand box or stand. Participants will be making their own wands. Choose up to 2 different kinds of wood, select a core which goes inside your wand (yes really inside), then sand and file your wand to create a design that's completely unique to you. No one else will have a wand exactly like yours and no two wands are alike. This class was inspired by the notes of famous wandmaker Mr. Garrick Ollivander who made an extensive study of wand woods and their magical properties. This is NOT a hot glue and chopsticks wand making class, we will be crafting our wands from real wood collected from trees bearing magical properties (as evidenced by the presence of bowtruckles). No prior wandmaking or toolworking experience required. All materials & tools provided for you. Witches & wizards under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult (18+), the adult only needs to purchase a ticket if they wish to make a wand of their own. Each person who wants to make a wand requires their own ticket to the class. In this workshop you will learn… The history of wandlore. Types of wands used by famous witches & wizards. The magical properties of woods used for wandmaking. The magical uses of wand cores. How to make a wand from raw materials. Every attendee will leave the class with their very own custom designed wand ready for magical workings and spell casting. If you so wish you may bring with you a core for your wand. Your core is an item of great magical significance to you, it is the source of your power. It is the magic within your wand and yourself. Choose it well. The core must be a small and narrow item as it will need to fit inside your wand. Wand sizes vary and limits on core width vary with them. To ensure your core will fit in any wand wood available it should be flexible like hair, feathers, paper notes, herbs, or liquids. Tickets are non-refundable but may be sold or transferred.
