Tickets are $30. https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/fantasy-fashion-show-15-tickets-33053637319?aff=eivtefrnd This runway fusion of wearable art blends art and fashion and has been a crowd pleaser for all attending since 1998. Money raised goes toward our operating budget for programming and outreach. This event will have about 16 designers and artists display a wide range of wearable fashion pieces down the runway. The participants occasionally incorporate performance and create wear that pushes the envelope on fashion and occasionally gives artists an opportunity to delve into fashion that has something to say and is quite often unpredictable. The show (started by Phil Anderson, in 1998) keeps the audience on its toes. This year we will have some $100 corporate seats and a few silent auction items to raise more dollars for the event. Designers and artists will be confirmed and information sent out. In the past outfits have included live snakes, outfits made of licorice, body painting, recycled materials, coffee filters and much more. Media coverage has include print from Toronto Fashion Magazine, The Toronto Star, The National Post, Now Magazine, and the Parkdale Villager. Other media have included Fashion Television, CBC Television News, CFTO News, Global Television, City TV, CBC Radio and others. Every year we try and have a celebrity host. Hosts have included, Enza Anderson –Supermodel, Glen Baxter – Fashion Television, Russell Smith – The Globe and Mail, RM Vaughan – David Liss (MOCCA Curator) and Juno Youn and others. Gallery 1313 is an incorporated not for profit organization with charitable status. It is an artist run centre but does not receive core funding. Gallery 1313 hosts exhibitions by local, national and international contemporary artists. It is home to almost 60 member artists from across the GTA. It has more than 70 exhibitions a year with over 15,000 visitors and displaying the work yearly of some 500 artists. The gallery also does community outreach and has educational programming. The Gallery is located in the former holding cells of what was Division 6 City of Toronto Police Station. There were 12 cells in the former Police Station in what is the Main Gallery today. This fundraiser promises to be a good time for a great cause!.
