Trigger Warning

Playing With Shakespeare February 17-19, 2017, Ottawa Why: Perhaps youre timid or frustrated about the idea of performing Shakespeare? Or feel like all you ever get the chance to do are monologues? Or, you love Shakespeare but have never had the opportunity to perform it? Maybe you just want to spend some time reconnecting with text and character? Well then, this is the workshop to you! What: Open to beginners, intermediate, and seasoned performers alike, this workshop with veteran theatre artist Margo MacDonald will give you the chance to learn skills and play with the work of William Shakespeare. Using a single play, participants will be assigned roles and will approach the work much like in a rehearsal process. Youll learn how to begin and how to dig deeper. Youll learn about the text how to speak it and how to really understand it. Focus will be on using action and character to help the text come alive. Most of all, youll simply have fun playing with Shakespeare.
