Trigger Warning

I don’t need a mobile phone
I don’t want one
I like my push buttons to be voluptuous
They fill my fingertips
I like the sound of the telephone ring
The way it grounds me
I don’t need to see who I’m talking to
I can imagine them
Like in the fairy tales of my childhood
I don’t need a call
When I’m constipated at the stock exchange
Or when I’m snogging in the cinema
I like my space
And I like the silence
The gaps in between spoken words
I’ll keep my eyes open
And see what’s around.
