Bio

Augustine Oritseweyinmi Oghanrandukun is a poet, a historian, and a political scientist. Augustine has published both in History, Political Science, and some Poetry journals and at present is experimenting with a new type of sonnet: a sonnet short of one iambic metre. This type of metre adds more musicity to the poems and gives additional lyrical value. Augustine is a Doctorate researcher in one of Nigeria’s universities.

Trigger Warning

Let Adam boast she looks like God,
Her features straight like morning sun;
Proud soft her eyes like hailing cod,
That sparkled smooth like smiling son;
For sure she’s coy with BIPOC’s smile,
Where gender is a thing of mind:
Full cute and soft without a rile,
Comforting souls with heavens’ kind.
But Black and Latinx save this globe,
Their ruling class is gender mute –
Adumu rules without a probe,
Without the staff of harsh impute,
Our day is joy forever more,
For Adam rules with angels lore!
