This month the Janette Kennedy Gallery is showcasing Kelsey Anne Heimerman exhibition called “The American Dream.” The exhibit is a series of distorted, figurative oil paintings in a variety of epic scales. The project took over a couple of years to complete and has grown technically, emotionally, and politically. “The American Dream” consists of more than 25 portraits, which are covering themes of inequality, feminism, and social interaction while illustrating portraiture and everyday life. Heimerman used portrayed figures to metaphorically reflect our contemporary world. The exhibition runs from April 5 to April 28, and the artist reception will be on Saturday, April 22 from 7 p.m.- 10 p.m. For more information, please visit www.kelseyanneheimerman.com.
