Bunny is a 101 year-old woman, who has enjoyed writing poems for special occasions for decades. Occasionally, she writes serious poetry, but mostly enjoys the slightly irreverent or humorous.

 

Trigger Warning

To, too and two are all pronounced the same,
but each word has a meaning of its own.
For, fore and  four also play this game;
it’s enough to make a grown woman groan.

Last night I ate dinner at half-past –eight,
I enjoyed a very hearty repast.
No way will I weigh myself now; I’ll wait
till I lose some weight by way of a fast.

I keep a journal; each evening I write
about right and wrong things I’ve done that day.
I know no better resource for delight—
“to write is my right rite,” I always say.

Dozens of homonyms pepper our speech,
making our language much harder to teach.
