Trigger Warning

SOLI’s 2016-17 concert season concludes with Under the Ligurian Sun, Part II, a concert-length sneak peek of repertoire under consideration for the ensemble’s tour to Italy next spring. In last season’s Part I, the program focused on music for solo instruments from SOLI’s extensive repertoire of great American chamber music. Part II features three new ensemble works by young composers Viet Cuong, Michael Gilbertson, and Dan Visconti, and revisits a favorite 2015 SOLI commission Street Antiphons by composer Pierre Jalbert. The highlight of the program is the World Premiere of DISAGREE! a new commission from renowned L.A. based composer, Miguel del Aguila. Concerts will take place on Monday, May 15, 2017 @7:30PM at Jazz, TX for SOLI’s premiere performance in the Pearl district, and on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 @ 7:30PM at their traditional home in Ruth Taylor Recital Hall, on the campus of Trinity University. Join the musicians and the composers Michael Gilbertson and Miguel del Aguila for Pre-Concert Talks at 7pm, both nights.
