Trigger Warning

Spilled like Pollock whitewash
Over field, road, and forest
The sunlight freshens
Each shadow, laurel leaf, and dogwood flower

Flickering first at the edge of hearing
Birdsong spills too
Lace notes conjuring mind
To make
Join
A chord
From here to whatever heaven
Hearts know

When angels sing
If there be threat
It’s drowned in promise

Is evil then only
Sleep
Error
Dissonance
Cacophony
Insensitivity
Misunderstanding?
